Dark grey security door with Victorian panel design and tinted glass side panels

This dark grey security door has a really refined look to it – a classic Victorian-style panel layout with a large upper panel and two smaller lower sections, paired with a brass letterplate that adds just the right amount of warmth against the grey. It’s the kind of combination that works on pretty much any property, but it looks especially good here against the red brickwork on what’s clearly a high-spec new build. The overall feel is traditional but not old-fashioned, if that makes sense.

The two full-height tinted glass side panels are a nice touch. They’re dark enough to give the entrance a sleek, contemporary edge while still letting light through into the hallway. From the outside you get reflections and a sense of depth rather than a view straight into the house, which is exactly what you want. The glass is anti-burglar rated as standard – double glazed out of the box, with triple glazing and bullet-resistant upgrades available if your property calls for it.

Underneath the finish is where the real work happens. The door is built around our patented welded steel frame, with multipoint locking at six points along the frame, stainless steel hinge side bolts, and a hardened drill-resistant defender. The inner structure is insulated with rockwool, so you get proper thermal performance and decent sound insulation too – handy if you’re near a road or in a built-up area. Fire resistance options run from 30 to 120 minutes.

The dark grey finish is powder-coated, so it handles rain, sun, and everything else the British weather throws at it without fading or flaking. If grey isn’t quite right for you, we can do any RAL colour – and the ironmongery can be changed to chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, or whatever fits your style. This door also comes with a matching dark frame and integrated transom bar above, which ties the whole installation together really cleanly.

    TESTED & CERTIFIED

We don’t just say our doors are secure – we’ve put them through some of the toughest independent testing available in the UK. Every Fort door is certified for fire resistance, burglary protection, sound insulation, and long-term durability. These aren’t internal tests either – they’re carried out by accredited bodies like BRE Global, so when we say a door meets a certain standard, there’s proper paperwork to back it up.

The bottom line is, you’re not taking our word for it. The certifications speak for themselves.

Fire Proof Security Doors Tested And Fireproof Certified

    FIRE

Our doors have been through rigorous fire testing and are available with ratings from 30 to 120 minutes. In a real emergency, that extra time can make all the difference for getting your family out safely.

Burglar Proof Security Doors Tested For Burglary Protection

    BURGLARY

Every Fort door is tested and certified for burglary resistance. With a reinforced steel core, multipoint locking, and drill-resistant components, these doors are designed to hold up against forced entry attempts – the kind of thing that would go through a standard front door in seconds.

Sound Proof Security Doors Tested For Accousic Resistance

    SOUND

If you live on a busy road or in a noisy area, you’ll notice the difference straight away. Our doors are tested for acoustic performance, and the combination of steel, rockwool insulation, and tight seals keeps a surprising amount of outside noise from getting in.

Durable Security Doors Durability Testing Process

    DURABILITY

These doors are built for the long haul. They go through stringent durability testing to make sure they hold up – not just for a few years, but for decades. The steel frame doesn’t warp, sag, or rot like timber can, and the powder-coated finish resists weathering far better than paint.

    SECURITY DOORS STRUCTURE

    • Patented welded steel frame
    • Hinge side locking bolts
    • Upper and lower locking bolts
    • Multi point high protection lock with 5 keys
    • Hardened steel, drill resistant defender

At the heart of every Fort door is a patented welded steel frame – this is what makes our doors fundamentally different from standard timber or composite options. The steel structure gives you genuine strength and resistance to forced entry, not just the appearance of security.

On the outside, the steel is clad in engineered wood, which can be painted in any colour, finish, or wood grain you want. So from the street, it looks like a beautiful front door. From a burglar’s perspective, it’s basically a wall. The inner structure is packed with rockwool insulation, which does double duty – it keeps heat in during winter and blocks street noise. Fire resistance options go from 30 minutes right up to 120 minutes, depending on what you need.

The glass we use is anti-burglar rated as standard, starting from double glazing. If you want to go further, there’s triple glazing and even bullet-resistant glass available. The locking system is multipoint with six bolts – one upper, one lower, and four on the sides – plus 4 to 8 stainless steel hinge side bolts and a hardened steel drill-resistant defender. It’s a lot of security packed into something that looks like a normal front door.

AVAILABLE IN ANY TYPE AND DESIGN

One thing people don’t always expect from a security door is choice. Most people picture something industrial looking – grey steel, no personality. That’s not what we do. Fort doors come in hundreds of different designs, and our craftsmen can build pretty much anything you have in mind, whether that’s a classic Victorian panel door, something sleek and contemporary, or a completely bespoke design that’s unique to your property.

The important thing is that regardless of the design you choose, the security stays the same. Every door has the same patented steel core, the same multipoint locking, the same level of protection. The design is just the bit you get to have fun with.

    Test Dor Types 10

    SINGLE, DOUBLE, ARCHED

Whether you need a single door for a standard entrance or double doors for something grander, we’ve got you covered. Both options come with the same reinforced frames and advanced locking systems. The only real difference is the width of the opening – the security is identical.

Security Doors With Side Panels Or Transom

    WITH SIDE PANEL or TRANSOM

Adding side panels or a transom above the door changes the whole look of your entrance – more light, more presence, more kerb appeal. The glass panels are reinforced to the same security standard as the door itself, and the transoms add structural strength on top of looking great. It’s a popular option for properties where the doorway is a bit wider than standard.

Bespoke Security Doors Custom Secure Door With Side Panels And Transom

    CUSTOM COMBINATIONS

If none of the standard configurations quite fit, we can mix and match. Single door with a transom, double doors with side panels, asymmetric layouts – whatever your property needs. Our craftsmen will work with you to figure out what works best, both practically and visually.

    AVAILABLE IN ANY FINISH

The finish on your door matters more than most people think. It affects how the door looks day to day, how it handles weather, and how much maintenance it needs down the line. We offer pretty much every finish you can think of, and we’re happy to help you figure out which one suits your property best.

Fort Premium Security Doors Powder Coating

    Elegant Powder Coating

Powder coating is our go-to recommendation for most installations. It’s tougher than regular paint, resists chipping and fading, and comes in any colour you want. It’s the finish that looks good in year five, not just week one.

Fort Premium Security Doors Mate Finish

    Sleek Matte Finish

Matte finishes have a clean, understated look that works really well on modern properties. They also have a practical advantage – fingerprints and smudges don’t show up the way they do on gloss.

Fort Premium Security Doors Glossy Finish 2

    Glossy Sheen

If you want your door to make a statement, gloss is the way to go. It catches light beautifully and gives the entrance a polished, high-end feel. It does need a bit more upkeep than matte, but the visual impact is worth it.

Fort Premium Security Doors Pattern Finish 1

    Textured Charm

Textured finishes add a bit of depth and character that you can actually feel when you touch the door. They’re distinctive, practical, and tend to hide day-to-day wear better than smooth finishes.

Fort Premium Security Doors Wooden 3

    Wood-Grain Delight

Want the warmth of timber without the maintenance headaches? Our wood-grain finishes replicate real wood convincingly – close up, it’s hard to tell the difference. You get the classic look with none of the warping, cracking, or repainting that real wood demands.

Fort Premium Security Doors Any Colour 1

    Custom Colour Matching

If you’ve got a specific colour in mind – maybe to match existing windows, brickwork, or just personal preference – we can match it. Any RAL colour, any shade. The exterior and interior can even be different colours if that works better for your space.

Every finish is applied to withstand UK weather conditions long-term. We don’t use standard paint that fades after a couple of summers – our finishes are engineered to last.

    REPLICA SECURITY DOORS

If you live in a conservation area or a listed building, you already know the headache of trying to upgrade anything on the exterior. Planning restrictions, heritage guidelines, materials approvals – it’s a process. We’ve done it plenty of times, and we work closely with local authorities to make sure everything is compliant.

Our replica doors recreate the original design of your existing door – the panel layout, the proportions, the moulding details – while building in a full steel security core, multipoint locking, and modern insulation behind the scenes. From the outside, it looks exactly like it should. From the inside, you’ve got a door that’s actually secure, energy efficient, and fire rated.

    PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION

A security door is only as good as how it’s fitted. If the frame isn’t square, or the seals aren’t right, or the locking points don’t engage properly, you’re not getting the protection you paid for. That’s why we offer our own professional installation service – our fitters know these doors inside and out because they’ve been fitting them for years.

It starts with a site survey where we take precise measurements and talk through any specifics with you. From there, we’ll give you a detailed quote covering the door, any customisation, and the fitting itself. No surprises, no hidden costs. Request your measurement and installation service today.

Want to see the full range before you decide? Our brochure covers everything – designs, finishes, security features, and installation details. Just drop your details below and we’ll send it over to your inbox. No sales calls, just the information you need to make a good decision.

    BESPOKE SECURITY

No two homes are the same, and sometimes an off-the-shelf design – even from a range of hundreds – doesn’t quite fit. That’s where bespoke comes in. We sit down with you, understand what you’re after, and build a door that’s specifically designed for your property and your preferences.

You pick the design, the materials, the finish, the ironmongery – all of it. Our team handles the engineering to make sure it all works together without compromising on security. Every bespoke door still gets the same patented steel core, the same multipoint locking, the same certifications. It’s just wrapped in something that’s entirely yours.
